Tips To Clean Automotive Windows
 
Clean glass on a dry day, in the shade, when it's below 80°F. Weather conditions make a difference. On hot days, the temperature of the glass within the vehicle can get too high. This will cause anything sprayed on the window to haze. Also, direct sunlight will not only make windows hotter, it makes it more difficult to see dirt and smudges. On humid or rainy days, the moisture in the air will make it more difficult to dry windows. 
 
Use a cloth that is designed for use on vehicle glass.The type of material (cotton, paper, synthetic, etc.) and ply (thickness) of your cleaning cloth matters.  The right cloth will be able to pick up liquid, dirt, and oil simultaneously while still being non abrasive. Typically a low-ply synthetic microfiber blend will work best. They are made to be gentle but durable. 
 
Do not use a cleaner with ammonia, soap, or detergents. Choose your cleaner wisely. Everyday household cleaners contain strong detergents and harmful chemicals that leave residue when it dries. For example Windex contains ammonia. Not only does ammonia create a haze on automotive glass, it is dangerous to breathe in confined spaces. 
 
Bonus Tips
If the temp is hot out, turn on the AC and cool off the interior before cleaning glass.
Use two cloths. One for cleaning and one for drying
Fold cleaning cloth in quarters to get the most surface area and leverage when cleaning.
